Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kawasaki Dojo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rolando Alves! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dojo goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Dojo slips a jab and a cross from Alves.

and Alves counters with a single leg into guard. Dojo didn't expect that. Dojo is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Alves is controlling him. Alves is stalling in the full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alves accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dojo keeping moving, preventing Alves from controlling successfully. Dojo wants to stand up but Alves is controlling him. Alves must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Alves stands up from Dojo's guard - Alves perhaps looking for a knockout. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dojo throws a lazy head kick and Alves counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Dojo looks like he's trying to stand up.
Alves takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Alves winds up and cracks Dojo with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Dojo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Alves looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dojo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Dojo has hold of Alves's hands but Alves slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Alves stalling. Alves's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Rolando Alves. Alves closes the distance and pushes Dojo back into the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Dojo looking for a takedown. Dojo manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Alves gets to his feet - Dojo follows without any prompting. Dojo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Alves was well out of range. Poor timing from Dojo. A low kick from Dojo misses and Alves counters by moving into the clinch. Dojo being controlled against the cage. Alves throws a punch but it's blocked by Dojo. A short right from Alves on the inside. Dojo drags the fight down to the ground.
Dojo is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Alves is controlling him. Alves throwing strikes from guard but Dojo blocks nicely. Dojo wants to stand and escape but Alves is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alves stays in close to Dojo's body and controls the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Rolando Alves was stalling too much, according to the referee. Dojo tries to land a body kick and Alves holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Alves leaning his opponent against the cage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Alves breaks from the clinch.
A left and a right from Dojo both land. Nice combination. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Alves decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dojo's guard. Dojo is looking to stand up but Alves isn't so interested in that idea. Alves trying to control the position from guard on top but Dojo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Alves controls from within his opponent's guard. Alves won't allow Dojo to get back to his feet. Alves content to stall in guard here.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Rolando Alves wasn't active enough on the ground. Alves looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves misses with a series of wild punches.
Dojo works over Alves's head and body with a nice combination. Alves clinches up with Dojo and pushes him back against the cage. Alves works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Alves thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Dojo wants to stand up but Alves is controlling him. Dojo keeping moving, preventing Alves from controlling successfully. Rolando Alves has got the better of the ground game so far. Alves wants to pass the guard but Dojo is keeping the position. Dojo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Rolando Alves hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Dojo throws a sloppy body shot
and Alves counters with a takedown into side control. Dojo is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Dojo takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Alves wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dojo keeps working. Dojo pushes Alves away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Alves gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves decides to stand back up. Alves steps back and let's Dojo get back to his feet. Dojo throws a head kick but Alves moves out of range.

Dojo tries to land a body kick and Alves counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Alves decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Alves keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Alves forces Dojo back against the cage and clinches. Dojo wants a takedown but no success here.

Alves wants to sweep here but Dojo controlling him for the moment. Dojo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Alves really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dojo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dojo trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Dojo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dojo wants to stand and escape but instead Alves has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rolando Alves showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Alves moves into the clinch successfully.
Dojo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Alves is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Alves avoiding damage.
Alves breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dojo attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Dojo lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Dojo misses with an uppercut. Kawasaki Dojo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Alves scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Alves tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Alves grinds an elbow into Dojo's temple.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dojo is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Alves goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Dojo has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Alves but great work by Dojo. Dojo has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Dojo tries to sprawl but Alves drives through with a takedown into half guard. Dojo wants to get back to his feet. Well, if Alves is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves is trying to ground and pound but Dojo uses the momentary lack of control by Alves to regain half guard. Dojo is trying to stand up here but Alves is controlling him well. Alves sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Dojo defending well though. Alves gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Dojo throws a series of punches but Alves moves out of range. Dojo works Alves's body with a nice hook.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Alves shoots in and bounces Dojo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Alves trying to control but Dojo is working from the bottom. Dojo wants to stand up but Alves is controlling him. Alves wants to control from the top but Dojo keeps moving. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Dojo pushes Alves off and gets back to his feet.
Kawasaki Dojo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rolando Alves is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Dojo throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Alves on the side of the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Rolando Alves comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Alves winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
