The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dojo goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

and Alves counters with a single leg into guard. Dojo didn't expect that.
Dojo is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Alves is controlling him.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alves accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Alves counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

and Alves counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Alves decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Dojo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Alves is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Rolando Alves is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Dojo throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Alves on the side of the head.
