Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Viktor Savelyevich Onopko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Stevens! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stevens misses with a combination
and Onopko counters with a right hand to the body. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Stevens swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Onopko counters with a left and a right that stings Stevens. Onopko misses with a jab, cross combination.
Stevens moves in looking to clinch but Onopko pushes him off. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stevens is defended easily by Onopko.
That's one minute gone in the round. Onopko fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Onopko scores with a jab to the jaw. Stevens fails to land the takedown. Viktor Savelyevich Onopko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Onopko throws a combination that misses and Stevens counters with a three punch combo that has Onopko backing up. Onopko nods at Stevens to acknowledge the strikes. Onopko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Stevens. Oooooh!!! Onopko has knocked Stevens down with a huge combo! Onopko steps away and waves a wobbly Stevens back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Matt Stevens has been cut. Onopko tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Stevens was well out of range. Poor timing from Onopko. Stevens is still on wobbly legs! Can Onopko finish him? Onopko lands with a right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Onopko gets caught napping as Stevens dives in and scores a takedown. Onopko manages to retain guard. Stevens seems to have recovered his senses. Stevens won't allow Onopko to get back to his feet. Stevens preventing the sweep. Onopko has his hands on Stevens's head, controlling the position. Onopko looking to control.
Stevens trying to control but Onopko is working from the bottom. Onopko looking for a sweep. Not yet Onopko, not yet.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Viktor Savelyevich Onopko just wasn't active enough. Stevens throws an off balance right hand
and Onopko counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

and Stevens counters with a three punch combo that has Onopko backing up. Onopko nods at Stevens to acknowledge the strikes. Stevens slips a jab and a cross from Onopko.

Viktor Savelyevich Onopko dominated that round. The cut man is working on Matt Stevens's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Stevens throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Onopko's waist but Onopko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stevens off to one side. Stevens shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Stevens showed some decent athleticism there. Onopko is trying to get back to full guard. Stevens is looking to advance position but Onopko won't allow it. Stevens thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Onopko is in trouble now - Stevens has advanced to mount! Stevens fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Onopko tries to hold on but Stevens postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Onopko is trying desperately to improve position. Stevens is trying to take his opponent's back.
Onopko bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Stevens looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Onopko stands up from Stevens's guard - Onopko perhaps looking for a knockout. Stevens swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Onopko counters with a nice body shot. Stevens is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Onopko. Those never looked like landing. Stevens throws a left and a right that both miss
and Onopko counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Onopko misses with a jab, cross combination.
Horrible takedown by Stevens or perhaps it was just good defense by Onopko which made him look bad.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stevens swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Onopko counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Onopko will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Viktor Savelyevich Onopko is winning the standup battle so far. Stevens throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Onopko counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Onopko fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stevens manages to avoid it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stevens throws a right hand that misses
and Onopko counters with a one-two to the body. Onopko is pawing at Stevens, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Stevens's nose. Stevens is badly hurt! Onopko pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Stevens tries desperately to hold on but Onopko is relentless in his assault! As Stevens receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Onopko away and this one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Viktor Savelyevich Onopko!
