Vaahtolaaksonen's entrance music is Pantera - Fucking Hostile Live. A fine choice. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vaahtolaaksonen wants to land a leg kick but Stevens is out of range.
Stevens checks the leg kick.
Stevens shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vaahtolaaksonen as he avoids it easily.
Vaahtolaaksonen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Stevens fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Vaahtolaaksonen tries to clinch there but Stevens circles away.
Vaahtolaaksonen misses with a low kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Vaahtolaaksonen.
Vaahtolaaksonen throws a front kick aimed at Stevens's knee but Stevens avoids it well.
Vaahtolaaksonen stuffs the takedown attempt from Stevens. Stevens gets slowly back to his feet.
Seppo Vaahtolaaksonen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Stevens.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vaahtolaaksonen fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Stevens is out of range.

Stevens scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Vaahtolaaksonen is not content to let Stevens control the position.
Vaahtolaaksonen tries to kick Stevens off but Stevens keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Stevens is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Stevens looks gassed!

Vaahtolaaksonen kicks Stevens off and gets back to his feet.
Vaahtolaaksonen is looking to slow Stevens down with leg kicks.
Vaahtolaaksonen fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Stevens checks it well.
Stevens has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Vaahtolaaksonen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stevens paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Stevens changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vaahtolaaksonen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vaahtolaaksonen pushes Stevens away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Stevens gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Stevens has hold of Vaahtolaaksonen's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Vaahtolaaksonen tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Stevens cranks the arm and Vaahtolaaksonen screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Vaahtolaaksonen, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
