Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Adkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Adkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Thiago Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Adkins counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

It looks like Thiago Gracie has been cut.
Adkins throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily.

so Adkins counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Matt Adkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thiago Gracie.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Adkins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Gracie is still in real trouble! Can Adkins finish him?
Adkins postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gracie seems to have recovered his senses.
Adkins scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Adkins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Adkins manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Adkins manages to get himself to full guard.

Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Adkins wants to stand and escape but Gracie is having none of it.

Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Adkins pushes Gracie off and gets back to his feet.

and Adkins counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Adkins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Adkins fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gracie, pushing him back against the ropes.
Adkins tries to land knees in the clinch but Gracie avoids the damage to the body.

Adkins lands a takedown into guard.

Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Adkins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Adkins might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Adkins has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Gracie to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Adkins is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Gracie pulls down on the head and he's put Adkins to sleep! This one is all over!
