The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGarrity takes a swing at Sortsen's ribcage but misses.

Sortsen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Sortsen tries to pass the half guard into mount. McGarrity knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Sortsen wants to work for an arm triangle but McGarrity is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Sortsen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McGarrity defends it well.
Sortsen is looking to advance position but McGarrity won't allow it.
Sortsen wants to advance to full mount but McGarrity doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

McGarrity pushes Sortsen off and scrambles back to his feet.
Sortsen has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from McGarrity finds it's way round the side to connect with Sortsen's head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
and McGarrity counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Sortsen! He's just covering up as McGarrity starts to tee off till referee steps in and stops the fight!
