Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gannicus Battiatus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Opa Jaeh! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Battiatus is looking to land body kicks. Gannicus Battiatus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Battiatus misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jaeh.
Battiatus changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Battiatus swinging wildly here.
Battiatus throws a big shot that misses. Jaeh moves out of range of the body kick from Battiatus.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Battiatus throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jaeh counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Battiatus working hard to break the clinch. Battiatus pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Battiatus throws a nice looking combination but Jaeh bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jaeh tries to clinch up and Battiatus counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. Battiatus lands a two punch combo.
Battiatus throws a combination. Jaeh tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Jaeh is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Battiatus. Jaeh dodges the punch combination from Battiatus.
Battiatus misses with a double jab
and Jaeh counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Battiatus's guard now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jaeh drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jaeh jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jaeh drops back looking for a leg! Battiatus is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Battiatus manages to kick Jaeh off! Jaeh jumps back into Battiatus's guard. Battiatus knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jaeh on the ground. Jaeh is pushing down on Battiatus's leg trying to pass to half guard. Battiatus is fighting to maintain full guard but Jaeh has managed to sneak the leg through. Jaeh is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jaeh has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Battiatus defend it? Jaeh steps over the head and cranks it - Battiatus is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Jaeh!
