Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Looka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arthur Gracie! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Alexandre Firmino and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Looka looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Gracie! Gracie tries to lock up and control but Looka gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Looka cracks Gracie with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Looka wants to control the pace but Gracie is squirming around nicely. Gracie is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Gracie is trying to escape the mount.
Looka sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Looka wants to control the pace but Gracie is squirming around nicely. Gracie holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Looka tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Gracie tries to lock up and control but Looka gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Looka looking to secure an arm triangle but Gracie defends it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Looka. Gracie is looking to get to half guard. Gracie is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Looka cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Looka looking for a guillotine from mount but Gracie is having none of it. Looka controlling the pace for now. Looka tries to control but Gracie wriggling away. Gracie tries to hold on but Looka pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Looka has control of Gracie's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gracie regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Looka content just to control the position here. Looka stands up from mount. Strange move. Looka tries to clinch up. Looka shoots in looking for a takedown but Gracie manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Looka's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Looka is breathing heavily. Looka tries to clinch but Gracie is having none of it. Gracie drives through with a takedown into guard. Gracie avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Looka looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Looka has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gracie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Looka looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Looka dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Gracie closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Gracie working away. Looka tries to buck Gracie off but Gracie is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Looka wants to control but Gracie postures up. Looka is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Looka keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Looka seems a little lost for a moment, as Gracie dominates the positioning. Looka is trying to control Gracie's posture but Gracie avoids it. Looka is looking for a sweep. Gracie passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Looka!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Looka is squirming around, avoiding Gracie's attempts to control the action. Looka wants to hold on but Gracie pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie looking to control but Looka is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Looka is looking to improve his position but Gracie isn't that keen on the idea. Gracie avoids the attempt from Looka to control. Looka manages to control the position for a moment. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Looka tries to hold on but Gracie postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Arthur Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Looka gets caught flat footed, as Gracie shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Looka had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gracie defends it easily. Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Looka is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Looka is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gracie is aware though and is defending well. Gracie controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Gracie takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Looka escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gracie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Looka is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gracie defends well. Looka looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Gracie is defending well. Looka quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Gracie has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Looka celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
