Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nate Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Katana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Katana is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Baby got back. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Nate Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, James Katana! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Katana cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Diaz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Diaz with a poor takedown and Diaz takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Diaz with a poor takedown and Katana connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nate Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Diaz takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Diaz with a poor takedown and Katana counters with a two punch combo. Diaz has his takedown stuffed and Katana counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Diaz with a poor takedown and Katana counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Katana tries to stand but can't do so whilst Diaz controls his leg. Diaz looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Diaz is breathing heavily. Katana decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz throws a combination that misses and Katana counters with a lovely straight right hand! Katana loads up on a big right hand but Diaz slips the punch. Diaz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Katana takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Diaz misses with a takedown and Katana counters with a lovely straight right hand! Katana looks to land a combination but Diaz avoids it well. Diaz misses with a takedown attempt and Katana counters with a stiff right hand. Diaz takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Diaz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown letting Katana counter with a right hand. Nice straight punches there by Katana. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Katana. Katana throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Katana lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Katana. Katana is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Diaz had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Katana lands with a straight right. Diaz didn't see that one coming. Diaz moves away from the strike by Katana. Katana closes the distance and pushes Diaz back into the cage. Katana escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Diaz misses with a takedown attempt and Katana counters with a single leg into guard. Diaz didn't expect that. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Katana not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Katana wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Katana wanted to stand there but Diaz had control of the position. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Katana wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Diaz's closed guard. He's half up but Diaz has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Diaz pivots and extends the arm, Katana falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Diaz! Well done that man!
