Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Mayer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcin Held (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mayer has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Marcin Held has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayer throws a right hand that misses
and Held counters with a nice uppercut.
Mayer misses with a body kick.
Mayer misses with a kick to the body.
Mayer throws a right hand that misses
letting Held counter with a right hand.
Held moves out of range as Mayer strikes.
Mayer throws a poor cross that misses
and Held counters with a stiff right hand.
Mayer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Held circles away quickly and effectively.
Held feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Held gets to his feet. Mayer looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Held slips under a jab from Mayer.
Held shoots in for a double leg but Mayer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mayer looks to land a left hand but Held moved out of range nicely.
Held takes one to the chin there.
Mayer rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Held counters with a takedown into side control.
Mayer is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Held is trying to get an arm triangle but Mayer is defending well.
An elbow from Held crashes against the mat.
Mayer is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Held has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Held trying to control the action but Mayer is working from the bottom.
Held has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Mayer is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Held yanks on the arm and Mayer is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Held.
