Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Walters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Butch Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Williams's choice of entrance music: Sunshine of Your Love. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Butch Williams!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walters lands a jab.
Williams tries to close the distance and clinch but Walters swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Williams throws an off balance right hand
and Walters counters with a nice uppercut.
Walters throws a poor cross that misses
and Williams counters with a big head kick but Walters shrugs it off.
A big right from Walters misses.
Walters dodges the punch combination from Williams.
Walters loads up on a big right hand but Williams slips the punch.
Walters throws a jab but it's blocked by Williams.
Walters waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Williams.
Walters misses with a shot to the body

and Williams counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Williams won't allow Walters to sweep him here.
Williams advances position into side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Williams connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Walters some visible discomfort.
Williams tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Williams looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Walters is avoiding damage well.

Walters dodges the ground and pound from Williams.
Williams sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Walters is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Williams tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Williams throws an elbow but Walters slips to the side and avoids it well.
Walters on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Walters tries to get out of the position.

Williams throws an elbow but Walters slips to the side and avoids it well.

Williams is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Walters knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williams advances to full mount.
Walters is breathing heavily.
Williams lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Walters takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Williams throwing strikes here but Walters is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Williams misses with a head shot.
Walters is in a horrible position here. Williams smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Williams is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Walters can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Williams is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Williams!
