Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luke Paulister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Smith! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith throws a combination that misses and Paulister counters with a leg kick. Paulister swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Luke Paulister dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Crunch! Paulister slams his shin into Smith's torso. Paulister throws a sloppy body shot
and Smith counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Smith closes the distance looking to clinch and Paulister counters with a nice low kick that buckles Smith's knee momentarily. Smith blocks a head kick by Paulister.

Smith scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Smith throws a left and a right that both miss
and Paulister counters with a good low kick that Smith was not able to check. A nice leg kick lands there from Paulister. A solid leg kick lands there for Paulister.
Paulister drives through with a takedown into Smith's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Smith has momentary wrist control but Paulister slips an elbow through the middle. Paulister landing with the ground and pound. Paulister pushing down on Smith's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Smith is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Paulister lands a nice short elbow. Paulister winds up and cracks Smith with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Paulister working the head and body with strikes. Smith blocking the ground and pound attempt from Paulister. Well, if Paulister is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Paulister is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Paulister has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Paulister seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Paulister landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Smith is rocked! Paulister frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Paulister connects with a bit shot that sees Smith covering up! More strikes from Paulister and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Paulister is our winner by TKO!
