Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Austin Smith!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Yeger.

Smith shoots in and bounces Yeger off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Smith thows a big elbow that misses.
Yeger is looking to stand up but Smith isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smith drops back looking for a leg! Yeger is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Yeger manages to kick Smith off! Smith jumps back into Yeger's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smith content to control rather than advance.
Yeger is trying to stand back up but Smith is controlling him

Yeger is trying to escape back to his feet but Smith uses the scramble to pass into side control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Smith takes a little break here. Yeger wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Yeger is trying to get back to his feet.

Smith stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Smith darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Well, if Smith is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Yeger tries to kick Smith off but Smith keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Yeger is breathing heavily.
Smith uses his free foot to push down on Yeger's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Yeger.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Smith throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Smith misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Smith fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Yeger lunges at Smith with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Smith's hand.
Matan Yeger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yeger drops Smith with a left and a right! Oh, Smith is hurt - Yeger dives into side control looking to finish!

Yeger stands up and beckons Smith to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Yeger sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Smith to the ground! Yeger dives into full mount looking to finish!

Smith manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Smith seems to have recovered his senses.

Smith pushes Yeger off and gets back to his feet.
Yeger moves in looking to clinch but Smith pushes him off.
Yeger throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Smith.

Yeger pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Smith bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Yeger tries to bum rush Smith with a series of wild strikes but Smith uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Smith dodges the punch combination from Yeger.

Smith looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Yeger is looking to escape.
Smith is tying to control. Yeger wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Smith in particular looking to stall.
Smith not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Yeger knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.

Smith bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Yeger tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Matan Yeger will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Yeger lands with a nice body kick.

Smith won't allow Yeger to get back to his feet.

Smith stands up and waves to Yeger to follow him.

Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
