Alvestam is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Davidian. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adrian Pugate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lars Alvestam!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvestam lands with a slapping head kick.
Alvestam throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pugate's waist but Pugate gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alvestam off to one side.
Alvestam's jab looks to have found its range, popping Pugate under the eye.
Pugate throws a chopping leg kick but Alvestam manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Alvestam defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pugate.
Pugate fails to land the takedown.
Lars Alvestam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alvestam misses with a looping left.
Alvestam tries to clinch up but Pugate circles away and keeps his distance.
Alvestam avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Alvestam drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alvestam wants to control but Pugate is keeping him busy.
Pugate tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Alvestam wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pugate manages to work his way to half guard, despite Alvestam's best efforts.
Pugate trying to hold on to Alvestam's head to control him but Alvestam postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Alvestam is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Pugate is doing well to control the position and prevent Alvestam from advancing to side control.
Alvestam is thwarting Pugate's attempts to control the position.
Alvestam drops an elbow to the side of Pugate's head.
Alvestam thows a huge punch but Pugate dodges it nicely.

Alvestam is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Alvestam not landing any meaningful shots this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Alvestam is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pugate sees it coming and defends easily.
Alvestam controlling the pace.

Alvestam is working for a submission of some sort.

Alvestam is trying for a kimura here. Pugate looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Alvestam wins by kimura!
