Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Harley Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Everhart Cruse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reyes kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Shut Em Down (Public Enemy). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Harley Reyes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Everhart Cruse! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cruse misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Cruse keeps Reyes at a distance using the push kick. Reyes is looking to clinch but Cruse is avoiding it.
Cruse shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Reyes as he jumps to the side. Reyes decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Reyes controlling the action here. Reyes missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Reyes winds up and cracks Cruse with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Reyes not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Reyes sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Cruse defending well though. Cruse wants to get back to his feet.
Cruse pushes Reyes off and gets back to his feet. Reyes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Cruse feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Reyes's calf.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reyes closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Reyes lands in his opponent's guard. Reyes prevents Cruse from getting back to his feet. Reyes working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reyes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Reyes missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Cruse clinches up with Reyes and pushes him back against the cage. Reyes is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Cruse gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Cruse using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Reyes has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Reyes has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Cruse clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cruse is trying to get back to his feet but Reyes has full control of the position and if anything, Cruse has just worked his way into a worse spot. Reyes lands an elbow to the side of the head. Reyes is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Cruse. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. Reyes connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Cruse to escape the position.

It looks like Everhart Cruse has been cut. Can Cruse hold on?! Reyes is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Reyes scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Cruse is looking for a way out. Reyes lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Cruse is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Reyes is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Cruse has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Cruse holding both Reyes 's hands and preventing any damage. Reyes has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Cruse's body.
Cruse seems to have recovered his senses. Cruse wants to get back to his feet. Reyes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Reyes controls the action. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Reyes looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Cruse is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Harley Reyes dominated that round. The cut man is working on Everhart Cruse's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Reyes shoots and misses and Cruse counters with a thumping low kick. Reyes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Harley Reyes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Reyes scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Cruse is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Reyes passes Cruse's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Reyes not landing any meaningful shots this time. Reyes lands with a punch from half guard. Cruse is trying to stand.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Reyes winds up and cracks Cruse with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Cruse pushes Reyes off looking to stand but Reyes dives back in and keeps control.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Cruse moves into range and clinches up with Reyes. Cruse stalling in the clinch but Reyes improves position. Cruse lands an elbow that stopped Reyes in his tracks for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruse controlling the action here for a moment.
Cruse lands a nice knee to the body. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Cruse takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Reyes drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cruse pulls his leg out and moves away.
Reyes scores a takedown into full mount! You get the feeling that Cruse really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Reyes cracks Cruse with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Cruse's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. A nice elbow there by Reyes. Reyes thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Reyes can do anything to dispel that myth.

Reyes controlling the position easily from mount. Reyes with a couple of short strikes. Reyes is landing with some decent strikes but Cruse is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Everhart Cruse's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Reyes sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Reyes lands with some strikes.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Everhart Cruse's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
