Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Crazy Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hurry Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dog kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Fan of Marrizle. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hurry Smith!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith closes the distance looking to clinch

and Dog counters by clinching up.

Dog manages to break the clinch.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dog paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Smith tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Dog counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Smith closes the distance looking to clinch

and Dog counters with a takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Smith's face as Dog controls the position.
Dog advances to full mount.
Smith tries to hold on but Dog postures up.
Dog looking to control but Smith is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Dog throws some wild stikes that Smith manages to avoid easily.

Dog looking to control and managing it successfully.

Dog moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Smith has worked his arm free - good work by Smith!

Dog working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Smith manages to get back to half guard.

Dog prevents Smith from improving his position.
Dog works his way into side control.
Dog wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working.
Dog tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Dog sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Dog is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Smith to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Smith shrugs it off.
Smith is trying desperately to improve position.

Dog is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Dog connects with a right hand. Smith shakes it off.
Smith darts in trying to clinch

and Dog counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Smith!

Dog controlling the pace for now.

Dog is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Smith can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Smith can't escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Smith wants to hold on but Dog pushes him away.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Dog circles away from the clinch attempt
and Dog counters with a three punch combo that has Smith backing up. Smith nods at Dog to acknowledge the strikes.
Smith misses with a right hand

and Dog decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Smith's guard.
Dog wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.

Dog thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Dog passes Smith's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Dog trying to mount his opponent but Smith defends it.
Smith slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Smith keeping moving, preventing Dog from controlling successfully.

Dog slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Dog creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Smith sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Smith tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dog wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Dog wants to control but Smith is keeping him busy.
Dog fails to land a wild elbow strike.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Dog in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Dog wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working.
Smith is trying to get back to half guard.
Smith pushes Dog away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Dog gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dog working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Dog is looking to take a break and control but Smith is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dog content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Dog is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Smith knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Dog wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Smith, who protects the arm well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dog throws an elbow but Smith slips to the side and avoids it well.
Smith is pushing Dog's head away, looking to escape. Dog manages to hold on to the position though.
Smith is looking to reverse the position.
Smith is not content to let Dog control the position.

Dog tries for a kimura but Smith is defending well.
Smith gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Crazy Dog dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Dog displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Smith throws out the jab.

Smith has momentary wrist control but Dog slips an elbow through the middle.

Dog pushes down on Smith's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Smith is staying active underneath Dog, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Dog controlling the pace.
Smith blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dog.
Dog seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Smith does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Smith takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Dog trying to control the action but Smith is working from the bottom.
Dog moves nicely into side control.
Smith is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Dog wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working.

Dog has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Smith is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Dog yanks on the arm and Smith is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Dog.
