The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexander walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Arbuhmedov's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Arbuhmedov is bucking up trying to escape but Alexander cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Alexander is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Arbuhmedov has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Arbuhmedov!

Arbuhmedov has gone for a leg lock! Alexander slips out almost immediately though and dives into Arbuhmedov's guard.

Arbuhmedov is looking for a triangle but Alexander pushes his legs off easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alexander accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Arbuhmedov is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Alexander still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Alexander has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Alexander is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Arbuhmedov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Let's hope that Arbuhmedov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Arbuhmedov should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
