Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jan Verniak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Druzhinin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ivan Druzhinin! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Verniak drives through with a takedown into guard. Druzhinin wants to stand up but Verniak is controlling him. Druzhinin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
A nice elbow there by Druzhinin. Verniak avoids a series of strikes thrown by Druzhinin.
Druzhinin punching from mount but Verniak doing a good job of avoiding damage. Druzhinin unloads with some shots from mount but Verniak bucks and avoids them well.

Verniak throws a right hand that Druzhinin ducks under and follows up with a left that Druzhinin also avoids with ease. Verniak with a lazy takedown attempt and Verniak takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Druzhinin wants to clinch up but Verniak keeps it at a distance. Verniak shoots in and gets a takedown into Druzhinin's guard. Verniak throws a strike but Druzhinin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Verniak looking to hit a scissor sweep but Druzhinin is one step ahead there. Verniak wants to get back to his feet but Druzhinin is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Verniak working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Druzhinin.
That's one minute gone in the round. Druzhinin wants to stand but Verniak has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Druzhinin is breathing heavily. Druzhinin might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Verniak kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Ivan Druzhinin was stalling too much, according to the referee. Verniak tries for a takedown but Druzhinin circles away easily and Druzhinin counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Druzhinin. Druzhinin blocks a body shot from Verniak. Verniak is working for takedown but Druzhinin is calmly controlling the position for now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jan Verniak. That's going to take a lot out of him. Druzhinin stops a takedown attempt from Verniak.
Verniak tries to land knees in the clinch but Druzhinin avoids the damage to the body. Druzhinin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Verniak with a lazy takedown attempt and Druzhinin counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Druzhinin lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Verniak.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Verniak trying to control the position but instead, Druzhinin has worked for underhooks and has pushed Verniak into the cage. Verniak fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Verniak wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Druzhinin lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Verniak tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Druzhinin smiles and moves away.
Verniak shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Druzhinin counters by moving into the clinch. Druzhinin turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Druzhinin manages to end up in side control. Druzhinin is looking to take a break and control but Verniak is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Verniak tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Druzhinin easily slips into full mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Verniak's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Druzhinin lands a big elbow. Druzhinin thowing shots but they're missing. Verniak keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ivan Druzhinin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Druzhinin tries to kick Verniak off but Verniak keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Druzhinin is in trouble now - Verniak has advanced to mount! Druzhinin can't escape the position.
Verniak lands a big shot there that rocks Druzhinin but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
