PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Neil Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henery McLovin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McLovin is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Thunderstuck - AC DC. Henery McLovin will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Neil Adams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Henery McLovin!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Lou da Vinci and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLovin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
McLovin fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

McLovin throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Adams was covering up waiting for the punch and McLovin finishes the takedown easily into guard.
McLovin stopping the sweep attempt from Adams.

McLovin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
McLovin wants to control from the top but Adams keeps moving.
Adams is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McLovin trying to control but Adams is working from the bottom.
McLovin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
McLovin tries to free his leg and advance position but Adams is retaining full guard.

Adams is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McLovin defends well.

Adams might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
McLovin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Adams swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Adams escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McLovin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

McLovin is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
McLovin working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

McLovin has control of Adams's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Adams regains control of the situation pretty easily.

McLovin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Adams drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Adams jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Adams prevents McLovin from getting the reversal.
Adams seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but McLovin is holding on tight.

Adams goes for an armbar but he's not got it… McLovin turns into him and now he's in Adams's guard.
McLovin wants to pass the guard but Adams is keeping the position.

McLovin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McLovin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Adams looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but McLovin is defending well. Adams quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! McLovin has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Adams celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
