PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mt Bot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Honza Dus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dus comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Entrance Song kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mt Bot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Honza Dus!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dus shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bot's guard.
Bot looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Bot pulls Dus in to control the position.

Dus gets to his feet. Bot looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Dus throws a head kick but Bot moves out of range.

Bot closes the distance and clinches.

Bot turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bot manages to end up in side control.
Dus tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bot wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Dus is pushing Bot's head away, looking to escape. Bot manages to hold on to the position though.
Dus wants to control but Bot postures up.
Bot gets to mount! Dus was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Dus is trying to escape the mount.
Bot lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dus is looking to get to half guard.
Bot can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dus is looking to escape.
Dus tries to hold on but Bot postures up.
Dus really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bot can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dus is looking to escape.
Dus is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Bot trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Dus tries to hold on but Bot pushes him away.

Bot tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Bot putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Dus holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Bot tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
You get the feeling that Dus really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Dus tries to lock up and control but Bot gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Bot sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Dus looks gassed!
Bot lands a big shot there that rocks Dus but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dus sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Dus is looking to escape.
Bot seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Bot is trying to control. Dus wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Dus is concentrating on defense, preventing Bot from advancing position.
Bot passes the guard and advances to mount!
The referee warns Dus that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mt Bot dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Dus tries to clinch

and Bot counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Dus wants to get back to his feet.
Dus is trying to control but can't.
Dus is not content to let Bot control the position.
Bot prevents Dus from improving his position.
Dus wants to stand back up but Bot manages to pass into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dus struggling a bit here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dus is trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bot stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Bot shoots and misses
and Dus counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Bot has his takedown stuffed

and Dus counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dus.
Dus tries to break free but Bot pushes him back against the cage.
Bot tries to pull guard but Dus holds him up against the cage and eventually Bot drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mt Bot. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bot throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Dus blocks it with crossed arms.
Bot tries to score a body lock takedown but Dus shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Dus tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Dus is trying to break free.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bot is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Dus manages to break the clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bot enables Dus to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bot manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Bot is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bot has his hands on Dus's head, controlling the position.
Dus trying to control but Bot is working from the bottom.
Bot controls Dus momentarily but Dus frees himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Honza Dus.

Dus closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bot to the mat! Bot manages to get full guard.

Dus drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dus jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Dus stands up and waves to Bot to follow him.
Bot shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dus sprawls well. Dus wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bot gets slowly back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bot stuffs the takedown.

Bot shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dus napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Bot decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dus to his feet.
Bot throws a head kick that half lands.

Dus drives through and clinches with Bot against the cage.
Dus can't break the clinch.
Dus wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Bot has him pressed against the cage.
Bot is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dus pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Dus tries to land knees in the clinch but Bot avoids the damage to the body.
Dus is trying to push Bot away but Bot has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mt Bot will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Bot shoots in and gets a takedown into Dus's guard.
Bot controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Dus not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dus is pulling down on Bot's head to control his posture.
Dus is trying to control the position but Bot postures up.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Honza Dus has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Dus throws a head kick that misses.
Bot swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Dus stuffs the takedown.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bot displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dus.

Dus is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bot's half guard.
Bot trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Dus manages to pass to mount!
Bot tries to hold on but Dus pushes him away.
Bot is trying desperately to improve position.
Dus trying to control but Bot is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dus landing punches.
Bot wants to hold on but Dus pushes him away.
Dus fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Bot wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Dus working for the choke.
Bot covering up well under a series of strikes from Dus.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dus struggling to land strikes to the head as Bot covers up.
Bot might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Dus trying to control.
Dus has good solid back control here.
Dus doesn't have the hooks in and Bot manages to turn into his guard.
Dus thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Bot got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dus has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bot has managed to get both his arms back between Dus's legs - danger averted.
Dus controls Bot momentarily but Bot frees himself.
Dus is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Bot stopping the sweep attempt from Dus.
Dus can't keep his opponent in guard - Bot advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

And that's the end of the fight!
Honza Dus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Bot has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
