Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Jolley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Korey Reid! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reid throws a nice looking combination but Jolley bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Excellent takedown into side control there by Jolley. Jolley thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Jolley tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jolley has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Reid struggling a bit here. Jolley is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Reid knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Reid wants to get back to his feet but Jolley drags him back down.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jolley is looking to take a break and control but Reid is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Sloppy strikes there by Jolley. Reid really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jolley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Reid dodges the ground and pound from Jolley.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jolley swings around for an armbar but Reid sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jolley's guard. Jolley is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Reid defends well. Jolley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Reid gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Reid won't allow Jolley to sweep him here. Jolley wants to stand up but Reid is controlling him. Jolley is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Jolley looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Reid passes into half guard.
Reid wants to take a breather but Jolley is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jolley regains full guard. Nicely done. Reid connects with a couple of short punches. Jolley is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Jolley working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Jolley has the hooks in. Reid is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
