Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jayden Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benson Phillips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benson Phillips will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jayden Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Benson Phillips! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones dodges the punch combination from Phillips.
Phillips looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Jones fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Phillips sprawls well initially but Jones persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Jones works his way into full mount! Jones landing strikes, looking to finish! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Jones lands a heavy elbow. Jones in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Jones working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones working for a submission but Phillips is keeping him at bay. Jones fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Jones stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Phillips looks to land a combination but Jones avoids it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Phillips misses with a double jab
and Jones counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Phillips's guard now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Phillips swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jones slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Jones working the head and body with strikes. Jones decides to stand back up. Phillips misses with a double jab
and Jones counters by clinching up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones has Phillips pressed against the cage.
Phillips is fighting off a takedown attempt but Jones is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Phillips to the mat. Phillips regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Phillips has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Jones drops back looking for a leg! Phillips is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Phillips manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Phillips's guard. Jones stands and throws Phillips's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Phillips tries to improve position but can't. Jones wants to control but Phillips is keeping him busy. Jones stands up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Phillips gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jayden Jones dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Jones gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Jones has clasped his hands together around Phillips's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Phillips is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Jones decides to stand back up. Jones steps back and let's Phillips get back to his feet. Phillips is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Phillips throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones. Phillips swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jones counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Phillips's guard now. Phillips tries to land a sweep but no joy. Phillips avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Jones controls from within his opponent's guard. Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Phillips keeping full guard, as Jones tries to pass. Jones passes into half guard. Jones is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Ground and pound from Jones.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Phillips is trying to get back to full guard. Phillips won't allow Jones to pass to mount. Jones lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jones winds up and cracks Phillips with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Jones is trying to control the action in half guard but Phillips is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Jones decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Jones looks to land a left hand but Phillips moved out of range nicely. Phillips rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Phillips falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jones counters with a nice double leg into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jayden Jones dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Phillips enables Jones to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Phillips manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Jones pushing down on Phillips's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Jones missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Jones postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Phillips to stand up. Jayden Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jones scores with a takedown into Phillips's guard. Jones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jones keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Phillips's head. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jones passes Phillips's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones wants to free his trapped foot but Phillips is holding on for dear life with his legs. Jones is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Phillips sees it coming and defends easily. Phillips trying to hold on to Jones's head to control him but Jones postures up.
Jones is looking to stall here but Phillips recovers full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jones is pushing down on Phillips's leg trying to pass to half guard. Phillips is fighting to maintain full guard but Jones has managed to sneak the leg through. Jones looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Jayden Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Phillips is trying to stand back up but Jones is controlling him
Jones is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Phillips can do to turn this around? Jones seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jones connects with a nice short shot to Phillips's temple.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones throwing shots but Phillips is blocking nicely. Jones working Phillips over with strikes. Phillips on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Phillips trying to control but Jones postures up.
Jones working over Phillips with some ground and pound. Phillips looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Phillips moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Jones decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Phillips, up you get!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Phillips swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jones moves into the clinch. Jones works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Phillips gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Phillips trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Benson Phillips has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Phillips preventing the sweep.
And that's the end of the fight! Jayden Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well Jones has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
