The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Overeem or perhaps it was just good defense by House which made him look bad.
House throws a nice head kick!
Overeem keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from House.
Overeem tries to clinch up.

Overeem shoots in for a takedown but House shows good takedown defense.
House throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Overeem's waist but House gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing House off to one side.

House feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

House is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
House postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Overeem to stand up.
Overeem clinches with his opponent.

House has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
House avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Overeem will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
