Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marco Scarpelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Bruin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scarpelli comes to the cage accompanied by Use your fist and not your mouth. Andrew Bruin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marco Scarpelli! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andrew Bruin! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bruin thuds his right hand into Scarpelli's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Bruin clinches up with Scarpelli and pushes him back against the cage. A frustrated look appears on Scarpelli's face as he tries to break the clinch. Bruin misses with an elbow strike.
Scarpelli tries to score a body lock takedown but Bruin shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Bruin utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Bruin lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Stalling in the clinch from Bruin.
Bruin creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Scarpelli's defenses.
It looks like Marco Scarpelli has been cut. Bruin wants a takedown but no success here.
Scarpelli goes for a takedown attempt but Bruin pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Bruin has his takedown stuffed and Scarpelli counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Scarpelli. Bruin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Scarpelli is one step ahead there. Scarpelli is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Scarpelli throwing strikes but missing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scarpelli wants to control from the top but Bruin keeps moving. Scarpelli postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Bruin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Scarpelli postures up in Bruin's guard and throws a big left but Bruin blocks it. Scarpelli is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Bruin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Scarpelli. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Scarpelli loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Scarpelli postures up in Bruin's guard and throws a big left but Bruin blocks it. Bruin has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Scarpelli is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Scarpelli has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bruin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Scarpelli is one step ahead there. Scarpelli lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Bruin looks gassed! Scarpelli wanted to stand there but Bruin had control of the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Scarpelli in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Scarpelli is in close to Bruin's body, working some short punches and elbows. Scarpelli is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Scarpelli is looking to work some ground and pound but Bruin has wrist control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scarpelli trying to control the position from guard on top but Bruin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Scarpelli is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Scarpelli gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Scarpelli is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bruin's half guard. Scarpelli lands strikes from half guard. Scarpelli is nestled in close to Bruin, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Scarpelli is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bruin is just riding it out for now. Scarpelli eventually gives up the hold. Scarpelli scoring with strikes to the body and head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Scarpelli missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Scarpelli not doing much here.
Scarpelli throwing shots but Bruin is blocking nicely. Scarpelli working Bruin over with strikes. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Scarpelli stands up from half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scarpelli shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bruin but Bruin pushes him off and we're back to square one. Bruin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Scarpelli trying to control here.
Scarpelli is refusing to be controlled, as Bruin sits in half guard. Scarpelli holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scarpelli trying to hold on to Bruin's head to control him but Bruin postures up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Scarpelli is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Marco Scarpelli just wasn't active enough. Scarpelli fails with the takedown and Bruin counters with a nice body shot. Scarpelli scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Scarpelli throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Scarpelli is trying to control. Bruin wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Bruin is trying to control but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scarpelli sitting and controlling from the half guard. Scarpelli seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Bruin regains full guard. Nicely done. Scarpelli stands up from guard. Let's bang! Scarpelli looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Bruin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scarpelli lands with a punch from half guard. Bruin is looking to control Scarpelli's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bruin avoid being mounted? The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Scarpelli connects with a nice short shot to Bruin's temple. Bruin trying to control from the bottom.
Still in half guard, Scarpelli seems content to control. Bruin is trying to get back to full guard. Scarpelli seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Scarpelli stands up out of the half guard. Scarpelli avoids the head kick by Bruin.
Andrew Bruin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Scarpelli keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Marco Scarpelli is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bruin leaves Scarpelli with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marco Scarpelli. That's going to take a lot out of him. Scarpelli gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Bruin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Scarpelli's guard. Bruin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Bruin preventing the sweep. Scarpelli manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bruin manages to get himself to full guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marco Scarpelli will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Marco Scarpelli's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Bruin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Bruin trying to control the action but Scarpelli is working from the bottom. Scarpelli can't do much from the bottom here. Bruin wants to control for a moment but Scarpelli uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Bruin wants to advance to full mount but Scarpelli doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scarpelli is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Bruin has a hand on Scarpelli's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Scarpelli takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Bruin has left one of his arms exposed and Scarpelli doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Bruin screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
