Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Willie Connor!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Drandt Bavis!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bavis misses with a head kick.
Connor tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Bavis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A low kick from Connor misses
and Bavis cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A bone on bone clash there as Connor blocks the leg kick.
Connor throws a wild body kick that Bavis sees coming a mile off.
Bavis throws a head kick that half lands.
It looks like Willie Connor has been cut.
Connor lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Connor doesn't manage to clinch there - Bavis circles away.
A slapping body kick lands there for Connor.
Bavis fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Connor is out of range.
Bavis throws a head kick that Connor semi-blocks.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bavis thows a body shot but no joy.
Bavis buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Bavis misses with the body kick
and Connor counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Bavis lands a brutal head kick. Connor looks out on his feet and Bavis throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Drandt Bavis!
