Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mean Mug (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Brighton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brighton is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rage Against The Machine - Bulls On Parade. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mean Mug! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Brighton! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mug connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Brighton momentarily.
A head kick misses from Mug. Brighton takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Brighton will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Mug fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Brighton avoids it really well and circles away. Mug avoids the body shot from Brighton.
A solid leg kick lands there for Mug.
Nick Brighton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A head kick by Mug misses and Brighton counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Mug thinking. Brighton avoids the head kick by Mug.
Brighton ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mug moves away. Mug swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Brighton counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Brighton thumps Mug with a low kick. Brighton pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Brighton scores with a nice strike. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mug avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mug moves into the clinch. Mug looking to slow down the pace here. Brighton throws a knee to the head but misses.
Brighton throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Mug blocks it with crossed arms. Mug escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brighton looks to throw a body kick and Mug counters with a nice leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mug fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Brighton lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mug circles away quickly and effectively. Mug swats away the attempt to clinch by Brighton. Brighton takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Brighton takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Brighton looks gassed! Mug scoring well with a low kick there.
Mug lands a head kick. Brighton smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Mug scores with a head kick.
Brighton tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Mug.
Brighton rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mug moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mug connects with a leg kick. Brighton looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mug shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Brighton napping and manages to drive through into side control! Check out the look on Mug's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Mug wants to control but Brighton is keeping him busy. Mug tries to move into full mount but can't pass Brighton's legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brighton seems a little lost for a moment, as Mug dominates the positioning. Mug tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brighton seems a little lost for a moment, as Mug dominates the positioning. Mug wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brighton keeps working. Brighton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mug. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mug creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Brighton sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brighton can do anything to dispel that myth. Brighton is not content to let Mug control the position. Brighton can't do much from the bottom here. Mug is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Brighton is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Mug is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Brighton will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mug has an Americana. Brighton didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Mug is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Mug hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Mean Mug!
