The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice combo by Wrestler! Oh, that's hurt him - St Pierre falls to the canvas and Wrestler follows him into side control.

It looks like George St Pierre has been cut. St Pierre tries to escape but Wrestler is in control. Oh St Pierre is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Wrestler lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear St Pierre down.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wrestler throws an elbow but St Pierre slips to the side and avoids it well. Wrestler darts in trying to clinch and St Pierre counters with a single leg into guard. Wrestler didn't expect that. St Pierre scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Wrestler utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. St Pierre postures up and lands a big shot to Wrestler's brow. That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. St Pierre cracks Wrestler with a big right hand but Wrestler just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
St Pierre tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. St Pierre lands a few punches from side control. Wrestler can't do much from the bottom here. St Pierre has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Wrestler jabbing away but nothing is landing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. St Pierre feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Wrestler has his foot on St Pierre's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. St Pierre works his way back into a safe position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's one minute gone in the round. St Pierre is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Wrestler has managed to free his arm - good work. Wrestler misses with some strikes from the bottom.

St Pierre uses his free foot to push down on Wrestler's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Wrestler. Wrestler is in all sorts of trouble here.

But Wrestler has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Wrestler! St Pierre keeping moving, preventing Wrestler from controlling successfully.

Wrestler is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Wrestler trying to control the position from guard on top but St Pierre is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Wrestler stands up over St Pierre, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Wrestler trying to control the position from guard on top but St Pierre is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. St Pierre has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wrestler can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Wrestler trying to control but St Pierre is working from the bottom. Wrestler is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Wrestler lands a couple of elbows.
