Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Deon Du Plessis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Du Plessis's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Fort Minor - Remember the name. Deon Du Plessis had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Du Plessis's head backwards.
Du Plessis shoots in and bounces Rogers off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Du Plessis controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rogers is on top in guard.
Rogers tries to free his leg and advance position but Du Plessis is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rogers jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Du Plessis is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Du Plessis and Rogers has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Rogers changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Du Plessis fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Du Plessis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rogers has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Du Plessis has managed to get both his arms back between Rogers's legs - danger averted.
Du Plessis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
