Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Leonid Cheburtsow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Ulyanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Leonid Cheburtsow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Ulyanov! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksandr Martynov and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ulyanov instigates a clinch. Cheburtsow looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Ulyanov turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Ulyanov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cheburtsow knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Cheburtsow struggling a bit here. Ulyanov remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Cheburtsow wants to control but Ulyanov postures up. Ulyanov tries to stand but Cheburtsow is controlling his head. Cheburtsow is trying to get back to half guard. Ulyanov should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Cheburtsow prevents Ulyanov from moving into mount.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ulyanov looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Ulyanov is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Cheburtsow will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Ulyanov wants to stand but Cheburtsow is controlling his arm. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cheburtsow stops Ulyanov from passing to mount. Ulyanov takes a little break here. Cheburtsow wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Ulyanov working away. Ulyanov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ulyanov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! A lull in the action here.

Ulyanov grinds an elbow into Cheburtsow's temple. Cheburtsow is looking for a sweep. Ulyanov is trying to get an arm triangle but Cheburtsow is defending well. Ulyanov tries to stand but Cheburtsow controls the position and pulls Ulyanov into his guard. Ulyanov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ulyanov working some strikes from top position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ulyanov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Cheburtsow will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Ulyanov pushes Cheburtsow up against the cage in a clinch. Ulyanov turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ulyanov manages to end up in side control. Ulyanov is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Cheburtsow prevents Ulyanov from moving into mount. Ulyanov takes a little break here. Cheburtsow wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Ulyanov looks up at the clock and then as Cheburtsow takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Ulyanov smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That's one minute gone in the round. Ulyanov controls the position. Ulyanov wants to stand but Cheburtsow is controlling his arm. Ulyanov working the ground and pound. No, Cheburtsow has escaped the position, nice work there. Cheburtsow takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Cheburtsow seems a little lost for a moment, as Ulyanov dominates the positioning. Ulyanov lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Cheburtsow down.
Cheburtsow takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ulyanov wants to stand but Cheburtsow is controlling his arm. Ulyanov tries to advance to mount but Cheburtsow denies him. Cheburtsow is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Ulyanov is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cheburtsow is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

And that's the end of the fight! Vladimir Ulyanov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Ulyanov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
