Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alan Mecier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manningham Snapple (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Snapple has chosen Young Money-YM Salute as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alan Mecier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Manningham Snapple! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mecier misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Snapple throws a shot from downtown. Mecier moves away and avoids it. Snapple connects with an inside leg kick. Mecier shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Mecier misses with an uppercut. Snapple saw that one coming. Mecier misses with an uppercut. Mecier takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
It looks like Manningham Snapple has been cut. Mecier throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Snapple stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Snapple misses with a combination
and Mecier counters with a stiff right hand. Mecier takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Snapple connects with the punch. Snapple needs to keep his hands up - Mecier had a free shot at his head there. Mecier misses with a looping left. Snapple throws a sloppy head kick and Mecier moves out of range easily. Snapple uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mecier.

and Mecier counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Snapple's guard now. Mecier stopping the sweep attempt from Snapple. Mecier trying to control the position from guard on top but Snapple is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mecier postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Snapple is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mecier, into his guard. Mecier is adopting a defensive guard. Mecier trying to keep a closed guard but Snapple is proving a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Snapple throwing strikes but missing. Mecier managing to control the position. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Mecier lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Snapple! Mecier is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Snapple has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Snapple! Mecier looking to control.

Mecier has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Mecier wants to control from the top but Snapple keeps moving. Mecier looking to pass the guard.
We're going to have a standup here because Alan Mecier wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Snapple. Mecier shrugs it off though.

It looks like Alan Mecier has been cut. Manningham Snapple is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Snapple throws the kick towards the body but Mecier avoids it. A looping hook to the body misses from Snapple. Mecier does a little dance to reset his feet. Snapple misses with a right hand and Mecier counters with a one-two to the body. Snapple slips a jab and a cross from Mecier.
Mecier misses with a hook. Mecier takes a body punch but keeps moving. Mecier lands a jab to the nose. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mecier scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. The fighters circling - Mecier throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Snapple throws a front kick aimed at Mecier's knee but Mecier avoids it well. Mecier looks to score with a jab to the body but Snapple is just out of range. Snapple swings away with a body shot that misses
and Mecier counters with a takedown into side control. Mecier trying to control the position but Snapple is working away. Snapple is trying to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Snapple regains half guard there - taking advantage of Mecier's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Mecier is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Snapple has managed to free his arm - good work. Mecier seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Snapple looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mecier in particular looking to stall. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Mecier is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Snapple is just riding it out for now. Mecier eventually gives up the hold. Mecier looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Mecier is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Snapple is not content to let Mecier control the position. Mecier is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Snapple is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Mecier decides to stand and escape the position. Snapple throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mecier scores with a takedown into Snapple's guard. Mecier trying to control but Snapple is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Snapple is looking for a triangle but Mecier pushes his legs off easily.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Alan Mecier just wasn't active enough. Snapple leaves Mecier with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Snapple scores with a sloppy punch to the body. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Snapple stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mecier swivels though and keeps the full guard. Mecier looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Snapple passes into half guard.

Manningham Snapple has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mecier looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Snapple is keen to just control but Mecier is a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mecier has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Snapple is working away from the top position though. Mecier wants to get back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mecier controls Snapple momentarily but Snapple frees himself. Alan Mecier overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Mecier has his foot on Snapple's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Snapple works his way back into a safe position though. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Snapple trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Snapple throwing strikes but missing. Snapple trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Snapple throwing strikes but missing. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Snapple's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Mecier is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Mecier escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Snapple gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Snapple drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mecier looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mecier looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mecier! Alan Mecier is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mecier is looking to take a break and control but Snapple is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Alan Mecier showed his dominance in that final round. Well Mecier has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
