PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nate Sorenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucifer Hades (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hades has chosen D-Devils - Dance With The Devil as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Nate Sorenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lucifer Hades!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Sorenson.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hades is trying to improve his position.
Sorenson lands a decent elbow from side control.

Sorenson tries for a kimura but Hades is defending well.

Sorenson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hades is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sorenson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hades has escaped the position, nice work there.

Sorenson cracks Hades with a big right hand but Hades just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Sorenson stands up.

Hades feints and as Sorenson raises his hands in defense, Hades changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

and Sorenson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hades won't be happy with that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sorenson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sorenson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hades tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sorenson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Hades is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sorenson asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Hades gets tackled into the cage by Sorenson. Sorenson maintains the clinch.
Hades tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Sorenson avoids it.

Hades manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Sorenson gets to his feet - Hades follows without any prompting.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sorenson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hades!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hades rushes Sorenson and presses him up against the cage.

Sorenson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hades is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Sorenson to the mat. Sorenson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Sorenson is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Sorenson tightens his grip and picks Hades up, before dumping him to the ground. Hades manages to land in guard.
Hades looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sorenson is one step ahead there.
Nate Sorenson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Sorenson wants to control from the top but Hades keeps moving.

Sorenson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hades closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Sorenson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hades. Hades circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Hades pushes Sorenson up against the cage in a clinch.

Hades has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sorenson uses from the top position.

Hades really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sorenson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sorenson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Sorenson stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Sorenson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hades to the ground. Sorenson is now in Hades's guard.

Sorenson drops back looking for a leg! Hades is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hades manages to kick Sorenson off! Sorenson jumps back into Hades's guard.

Hades is trying to reverse the position but instead Sorenson has taken his back - oops!

Sorenson is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Hades defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
