Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Danny McBride (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Son Wukong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Son Wukong will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Danny McBride! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Son Wukong! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good exchange - Wukong coming out on top. Wukong thows a body shot but no joy. McBride shoots in but doesn't get the takedown letting Wukong counter with a right hand. McBride takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. The fighters circling - Wukong throws out the jab but it was never going to land. McBride with a lazy takedown attempt and Wukong counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. McBride tries to clinch but Wukong moves away enabling Wukong to counter with a crisp jab. McBride gets cracked there but stands up to it.
McBride drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's one minute gone in the round. McBride working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. McBride tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Wukong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McBride. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. McBride tries for a kimura but Wukong is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McBride is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wukong is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. McBride tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McBride has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's two minutes gone in the round. McBride is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wukong knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. McBride takes a little break here. Wukong wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. McBride tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McBride has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wukong tries to bench press McBride off him but McBride keeps the position. McBride wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wukong, who protects the arm well. McBride thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. McBride will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. McBride tries for a kimura but Wukong is defending well. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. The ground and pound from McBride seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McBride thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Wukong tries to escape but McBride is in control. Wukong is trying to get back to half guard. McBride is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wukong is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Nice defenses there by McBride. McBride doesn't manage to clinch there - Wukong circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wukong throws a series of punches but McBride avoids them all with ease. McBride moves to clinch but Wukong breaks away and Wukong makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. McBride tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wukong paws at him with a jab and circles away. McBride has his takedown stuffed and Wukong counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Wukong tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and McBride is able to avoid easily. McBride fails with the takedown and Wukong counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Wukong lands a nice leg kick that just misses McBride's sensitive parts.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Wukong tries to work over McBride's front leg with a kick but McBride checks it. Wukong misses with a wild body shot. Wukong throws a leg kick which misses McBride's front leg but catches the back leg as McBride tries to avoid it. Wukong misses with a kick to the body.
McBride really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Wukong throws a lazy uppercut
and McBride counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by McBride. Wukong utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. McBride drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wukong manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now McBride has Wukong in his guard. McBride keeping moving, preventing Wukong from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McBride is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. McBride is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Wukong sees it coming and defends easily. McBride is keen to just control but Wukong is a slippery customer. Wukong pushes McBride off looking to stand but McBride dives back in and keeps control.
McBride throwing shots but Wukong is blocking nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. McBride is pressing down on Wukong's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wukong is holding on for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McBride wants to control but Wukong is keeping him busy. McBride is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Wukong is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. McBride looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
McBride seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danny McBride dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!
McBride blocks a leg kick. McBride moves away from the strike by Wukong. McBride misses with a takedown and Wukong counters with a nice uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McBride fails with the takedown and Wukong counters with a straight right hand. McBride with a poor takedown and Wukong counters with a left and a right that stings McBride. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny McBride. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. McBride steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Wukong. McBride fails with the takedown and Wukong counters with a nice body shot. McBride has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Wukong. Wukong fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Wukong lands a jab to McBride's midsection. Wukong throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Son Wukong has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wukong lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Wukong tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McBride was well out of range. Poor timing from Wukong. McBride bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Wukong looks to score with a jab to the body but McBride is just out of range. Wukong lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as McBride backs up against the cage.
A clash of legs there as McBride blocks the low kick. McBride has his takedown stuffed and Wukong counters with a straight right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McBride shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Wukong counters with a two punch combo.
It looks like Danny McBride has been cut. McBride gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Wukong counters with a left and a right that stings McBride.
McBride is rocked! Wukong connects with a stiff jab that staggers McBride - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
