Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Darren Frost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Karlsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karlsen is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Home by BZ's. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Darren Frost! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kim Karlsen! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karlsen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Frost tries to avoid it but Karlsen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Frost to the ground. Frost escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Karlsen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Frost as he jumps to the side. Karlsen throws a leg kick and Frost counters with a flying knee. Nice. Karlsen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Darren Frost has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kim Karlsen. Karlsen shoots in looking for a takedown but Frost manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Karlsen's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Karlsen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Frost sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Karlsen somewhat. Frost connects with a high kick.
It looks like Kim Karlsen has been cut. Karlsen misses with a right hand and Frost counters with a straight right hand. A low kick from Karlsen misses and Frost makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Karlsen really felt that one! Karlsen looks gassed! A decent looking body kick lands there for Frost. A nice inside leg kick there by Frost. That's going to slow Karlsen down. Frost feints and then cracks Karlsen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Karlsen down. Frost fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Karlsen has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Karlsen avoids the head kick by Frost.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Frost thows a body kick. Karlsen tries to catch it but that hurt him. Frost moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Crunch! Frost slams his shin into Karlsen's torso. A good leg kick by Frost. Good leg kick by Frost there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Karlsen has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Frost.

and Frost counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Karlsen is lucky that one didn't land flush. Frost fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. A good leg kick by Frost. Karlsen's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Frost lands a high kick!
Frost lets loose with a powerful body kick. Karlsen will feel that in the morning. Karlsen is trying desperately to land a takedown but Frost is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Karlsen. Frost scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Frost scores with a kick to the body.

Frost lands with a nice body kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Frost throws a leg kick which misses Karlsen's front leg but catches the back leg as Karlsen tries to avoid it. Frost thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Karlsen if he has to take too many more of those.

That did some damage! Frost bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Frost scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Karlsen doesn't seem bothered though. Frost thows a body kick. Karlsen tries to catch it but that hurt him. Frost throws a quick inside leg kick. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Frost plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Frost lands a head kick!
Karlsen shoots in and drives through. Frost sprawls well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Karlsen might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Frost has got the better of the exchanges. Karlsen steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Frost. That one must have hurt. A left lands for Frost. Frost fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Karlsen on the side of the head. Karlsen on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Frost scores with a jab to the jaw. Frost cracks a nice hook into Karlsen's ribs. Karlsen tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Frost lands with a right hand. Frost connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. A head kick from Frost lands but Karlsen takes it in his stride. Frost throws a nice inside leg kick. Frost fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Frost lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. A kick lands to the mid section there for Frost. Karlsen with a poor takedown and Frost counters with a stiff right hand.

Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Frost on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Frost tries to get out of the position. Karlsen goes for an armbar but Frost turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Frost. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Frost tries to stand but Karlsen is controlling from the bottom. Karlsen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Frost defends it easily. Frost wanted to stand there but Karlsen had control of the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Karlsen tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Frost lands a head shot. Karlsen closes the distance and clinches up with Frost, looking for a takedown. Karlsen pushes Frost against the cage but Frost circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Frost throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Karlsen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Frost lands a leg kick that knocks Karlsen off balance momentarily. Frost throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Frost throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Karlsen's head. Frost is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Karlsen can do to turn this around? Frost scoring well with a low kick there.
Frost throws a nice inside leg kick. Karlsen sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Frost stuffs the takedown. Darren Frost is winning the standup battle so far. Karlsen on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Karlsen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Frost avoids it really well and circles away. Horrible takedown by Karlsen or perhaps it was just good defense by Frost which made him look bad. Frost scores with a nice body kick.
Karlsen gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Frost. Frost lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Frost fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Karlsen. Karlsen has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Frost. Frost throws a head kick but Karlsen moves out of range.
Kim Karlsen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Frost throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Karlsen crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Frost - the referee stops the clock and Karlsen gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Frost. Karlsen manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

And that's the end of the fight! Darren Frost showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Frost, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
