The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melton Sr avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Paquito Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Melton Sr shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Diaz sprawls well. Diaz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Melton Sr gets slowly back to his feet.
Diaz pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Diaz finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Nice uppercut there from Diaz.
Diaz tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Melton Sr is able to avoid easily.

Melton Sr with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Diaz to score with a decent uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Diaz scores with a jab to the body.
Melton Sr moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Melton Sr glances at the clock... BAM! Diaz nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Melton Sr crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Melton Sr is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
