The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nutz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Nutz had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pier is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nutz Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pier's back instead.

Nutz is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Pier defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Nutz has the hooks in. Pier is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Nutz looking to break Pier's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Pier remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Nutz will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Nutz is working for a rear naked choke. Pier is not defending it well and Nutz has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Pier refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Pier's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
