Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Gossett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aaron Gossett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carlos Santos! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gossett shoots for a double leg takedown but Santos sprawls well. He's pushed Gossett's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Gossett has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. The fight stays on the outside here - Gossett looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Gossett takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Gossett walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Santos misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gossett.

Santos is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Santos throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gossett counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Santos's guard now. Santos seems keen to control Gossett's posture. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gossett connects with a couple of short punches. Santos is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gossett is controlling him. Santos wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gossett is defended easily by Santos. A looping hook to the body misses from Gossett. Santos does a little dance to reset his feet. Santos throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Santos lands a nice hook to Gossett's body. Gossett takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. and Gossett counters with a two punch combo. Santos misses the shot to the body. Gossett tries for a takedown but Santos sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Santos lands with a nice combination. Gossett backs away looking to recover. Santos throws out a powerful jab. Carlos Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Santos connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Santos stuns Gossett with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Santos moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Santos tries to bum rush Gossett with a series of wild strikes but Gossett uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santos lands a lovely overhand right. Gossett takes a body punch but keeps moving. Santos's jab looks to have found its range, popping Gossett under the eye. Santos lands a jab to Gossett's midsection. Gossett falls off balance throwing a combination
and Santos counters with a nice body shot. Gossett gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Santos. Santos comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Santos lands with a nice combination. Gossett backs away looking to recover. Jab by Santos. Santos lands a nice looking body shot.
Santos throws a nice looking combination but Gossett bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Gossett takes one on the button. Gossett drops his hands momentarily and Santos takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Gossett moves in looking to clinch but Santos pushes him off. Santos misses with a jab, cross combination.
Santos tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gossett was well out of range. Poor timing from Santos. Gossett feints and as Santos raises his hands in defense, Gossett changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Gossett won't allow Santos to sweep him here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Santos wants to stand and escape but Gossett is having none of it. Gossett trying to control but Santos is working from the bottom. Gossett looking to pass the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos Santos dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gossett. Gossett throws out a leg kick but Santos moves out of range and Gossett only half commits. Santos circles away from the clinch attempt and Santos counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Santos with a hook. Gossett tries to clinch and Santos counters with a stiff right hand. Gossett misses with a takedown attempt and Gossett takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Santos has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Santos stuns Gossett with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. A decent looking cross lands there for Santos. Santos lands with a nice combination. Gossett backs away looking to recover. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Santos throws a one two combo.

Santos gets through Gossett's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Santos lands with a left to the head. A short right from Santos on the inside. Santos is working Gossett over against the cage. Gossett tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Santos avoids it. Santos lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Gossett wants to get back to striking at distance but Santos won't allow it.
Gossett is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Santos pulls him back up using the underhooks. Santos lands with a left to the head. Santos lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Gossett jumps guard but Santos stands there with Gossett around his waist. Gossett gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. A frustrated look appears on Gossett's face as he tries to break the clinch. Santos manages to break the clinch.
Gossett shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Santos sprawls well. Santos wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gossett gets slowly back to his feet. Santos throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Santos takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Jab, jab by Santos - just one landing. Santos displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Gossett thows a body kick. Santos tries to catch it but that hurt him. Some wild striking there from Gossett.
Gossett tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos Santos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Santos clobbers Gossett with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Carlos Santos seems to be getting the better of the standup. Santos lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gossett circles away quickly and effectively. Santos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Santos wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aaron Gossett. Santos stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Gossett is trying hard to land a takedown here. Santos sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Santos connects with a body shot that sends Gossett's belly button to the back. Gossett walks into a straight right hand from Santos. Carlos Santos is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

and Gossett counters with a flying knee. Nice. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Gossett. Santos pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Gossett back to the cage. Santos follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Santos throws a left and a right that both miss
and Gossett makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Santos really felt that one! Gossett swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Santos to counter with a crisp jab. Gossett takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Gossett changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Santos tries to avoid it but Gossett manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Santos to the ground. Santos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gossett has a takedown stuffed. Santos lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Santos thows a body shot but no joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santos misses with a left hand and Gossett counters with a shoot takedown. Santos fights it but they end up in guard. Gossett trying to control but Santos is working from the bottom. Santos wants to get back to his feet but Gossett is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Santos pulls Gossett in to control the position. Gossett wants to control from the top but Santos keeps moving. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

And that's the end of the fight! Carlos Santos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Santos winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
