The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maloy looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Maloy lands a big shot there that rocks Barros but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Barros bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Barros stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maloy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maloy is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Barros is controlling him.
Maloy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barros doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barros manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Well, if Maloy is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That was a close round but I would say that Riggins Maloy will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
