Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Grobovski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenji Fujiwara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sergei Grobovski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenji Fujiwara!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fujiwara has a takedown stuffed.
Grobovski defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fujiwara.

Grobovski is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Grobovski has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Fujiwara is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Grobovski on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Grobovski tries to get out of the position.

Even with his hooks in, Fujiwara manages to miss with strikes from the back.

Grobovski lands a head kick. Fujiwara smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Fujiwara chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Grobovski can pounce on him.

Grobovski gets control of Fujiwara's arms and successfully pulls guard. Grobovski will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Fujiwara changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Grobovski tries to avoid it but Fujiwara manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Grobovski to the ground. Grobovski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Grobovski throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fujiwara's waist but Fujiwara gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Grobovski off to one side.

Fujiwara closes the distance but Grobovski moves to the side
and Grobovski counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Grobovski is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fujiwara has escaped the position, nice work there.

Fujiwara wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

Grobovski throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Fujiwara works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Grobovski wants to work for an arm triangle but Fujiwara is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Fujiwara is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Grobovski content to control rather than advance.

Grobovski has gone for a leg lock! Fujiwara slips out almost immediately though and dives into Grobovski's guard.

Fujiwara misses with a takedown attempt - Grobovski sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Fujiwara takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Grobovski jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fujiwara walks away with a smile on his face. Grobovski gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
