Averick throws a front kick aimed at Maia's knee but Maia avoids it well.
Maia takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Averick scores with a crisp jab that stopped Maia in his tracks.
Averick thumps Maia with a low kick.
Averick tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Maia counters with a takedown into side control.

Maia goes for an armbar but Averick turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Averick.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maia has control of Averick's left arm, preventing Averick from doing any damage.
