Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zapp Brannigan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doe comes to the cage accompanied by whatsername, and does she remember my name?. Brannigan is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Jackyl -- The Lumberjack. Zapp Brannigan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Doe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zapp Brannigan!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doe uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brannigan.
Brannigan throws a lazy uppercut
and Doe counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Brannigan rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Doe counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Doe jabs Brannigan right on the nose. Brannigan blinks but takes it well.
Brannigan checks a leg kick nicely.
Brannigan swings widly with a right hand
and Doe finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Brannigan rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Doe counters with a low kick, right behind Brannigan 's knee.
Doe scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Doe slips under a jab from Brannigan.
Brannigan throws a poor cross that misses
and Doe counters with a straight right hand.
Brannigan swings widly with a right hand
and Doe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Brannigan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Doe counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Brannigan misses with a body punch
and Doe counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Brannigan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Doe paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Brannigan lands a nice looking kick to the body. Doe takes a step back to recover.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Doe controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jon Doe wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Brannigan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Doe counters with a left to the body.
Brannigan misses with a right hand
and Doe counters with a nice uppercut.
Brannigan misses with a lunging right hand
and Doe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Brannigan takes a swing at Doe's ribcage but misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Doe misses with a looping left.
Brannigan misses with a body shot.
Brannigan scores with a hook to the body. Doe takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Doe takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
A right-left combo lands from Brannigan.
Brannigan throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
enabling Doe to counter with a crisp jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Doe cracks Brannigan with a right hand to the side of the head.
Brannigan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Brannigan lunges at Doe with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Doe's hand.

Brannigan misses with a low kick as Doe jumps back.
Brannigan swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Brannigan lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Doe displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Brannigan throws out the jab.
Brannigan stalks Doe and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Doe's face. Doe staggers backwards, shaken.
Brannigan wants to clinch
letting Doe counter with a right hand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Brannigan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Doe moves away.
Brannigan tries to bum rush Doe with a series of wild strikes but Doe uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Zapp Brannigan will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Doe throws a low kick but it's checked well by Brannigan.
A left lands for Doe.
Doe blocks a head kick by Brannigan.
Brannigan has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Doe finds it's way round the side to connect with Brannigan's head.
Brannigan swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Doe counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Brannigan misses with a lunging right hand
and Doe connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Brannigan closes the distance and clinches up with Doe, looking for a takedown. Brannigan pushes Doe against the cage but Doe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Doe's corner calls for a 1-2. Doe obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Zapp Brannigan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brannigan shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Brannigan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Brannigan wants it to stay on the feet.
Brannigan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Doe sprawls well. Doe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Brannigan gets slowly back to his feet.
Brannigan shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Brannigan tries to clinch but Doe is having none of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Brannigan throws a sloppy head kick and Doe moves out of range easily.

and Doe counters with a nice leg kick.
Doe swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Brannigan misses with the body kick
and Doe counters with a nice body shot.
Brannigan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A jab from Doe finds it's way through Brannigan's defenses.
Doe tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Doe throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Jon Doe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zapp Brannigan.

Doe is trying to break the clinch but Brannigan has him pressed against the cage.

Doe throws a punch but it's blocked by Brannigan.

Doe drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Brannigan gets the underhooks and prevents it.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Doe defending well as Brannigan loads up on a big left hand.
Brannigan throws a push kick but Doe slaps the foot to one side.
Brannigan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Doe tries to avoid it but Brannigan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Doe to the ground. Doe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Brannigan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Doe.
Brannigan has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Doe steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Brannigan.

Brannigan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Doe is fending him off so far but Brannigan persists. Nope, Doe circles away and we're back to standing.
Donk. Brannigan catches Doe right on the button with a cross.
Brannigan throws a lazy uppercut
enabling Doe to counter with a crisp jab.
Jon Doe is winning the standup battle so far.

Brannigan throws a hook but Doe blocks it.
Brannigan throws a poor cross that misses
and Doe counters with a right hand to the body.
Brannigan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Brannigan lands a high kick!
Doe keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Brannigan swings widly with a right hand

Brannigan misses with a series of wild punches.
Doe ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Doe works on Brannigan's body with a couple of short punches.
Doe swings wildly with an uppercut but Brannigan uses good head movement to avoid it.
A head punch on the inside from Brannigan fails to land.
Come on Doe - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Brannigan stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Brannigan lands a shot to the body.
Brannigan prevents a takedown attempt there.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Brannigan misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Brannigan prevents Doe from breaking the clinch.
Doe goes for a takedown in the clinch but Brannigan prevents it.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jon Doe.
Well Doe has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
