The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawajiri gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Almeida counters with a straight right hand.
Almeida tries to clinch but Kawajiri moves away
and Kawajiri counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kawajiri.
Kawajiri has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Almeida has his feet on Kawajiri's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Almeida tries to grapple but his opponent circles
so Kawajiri counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Kawajiri stands up and waves to Almeida to follow him.

Kawajiri throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Almeida escapes and throws Kawajiri's legs to the side, diving into side control!
