Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gegard Mousasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gegard Mousasi is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fedor Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gegard Mousasi!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko misses with a hook

and Mousasi counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Mousasi is looking to advance position but Emelianenko won't allow it.
Emelianenko is trying to control but can't.
Mousasi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Emelianenko's head.
Emelianenko gets back to full guard.
Mousasi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Emelianenko trying to keep a closed guard but Mousasi is proving a slippery customer.
Mousasi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Emelianenko has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Emelianenko is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mousasi working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Emelianenko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Mousasi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Emelianenko works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Mousasi content to stall in guard here.
Mousasi working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Mousasi is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Gegard Mousasi has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Emelianenko misses with an uppercut

and Mousasi counters with a single leg into guard. Emelianenko didn't expect that.

Mousasi decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Emelianenko, up you get!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Emelianenko not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mousasi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Emelianenko swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Emelianenko bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mousasi's guard.

Emelianenko is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mousasi is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mousasi has escaped and now he's on top!

Emelianenko is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mousasi defends well.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Emelianenko is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mousasi is aware though and is defending well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Emelianenko isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mousasi stacks Emelianenko on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mousasi!
Emelianenko tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mousasi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

You can see the frustration on Emelianenko's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Emelianenko regains half guard.
Mousasi slows the pace down in half guard.
Mousasi looks gassed!
Mousasi wants to take a breather but Emelianenko is having none of it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Emelianenko moves into full guard.

Emelianenko working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mousasi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Emelianenko is tightening it up a little... Mousasi has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Mousasi reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Mousasi taps out! nice BJJ there by Emelianenko!
