Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nigel Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Kratuschenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Pastor Troy- Just to Fight. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nigel Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Kratuschenko! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kratuschenko shoots in but Diaz avoids the takedown attempt easily. Diaz swings away with a leg kick that misses. Diaz is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Kratuschenko.
It looks like Nigel Diaz has been cut. Kratuschenko will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Diaz!
Diaz falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kratuschenko counters with a leg kick. A punch combination from Diaz misses. Diaz tries a head kick but it misses.
Kratuschenko fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Nigel Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivan Kratuschenko. The fight stays on the outside here - Kratuschenko looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Diaz throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kratuschenko stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Kratuschenko scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Kratuschenko tries for a takedown but Diaz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Diaz avoids a punch combination nicely.

and Diaz counters with a thumping low kick. Kratuschenko thuds a left hand into Diaz's body. Diaz lands with a nice body kick. Kratuschenko lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Kratuschenko takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Diaz. Kratuschenko throws a leg kick that is checked and Diaz counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Diaz is looking to clinch. Kratuschenko misses with a looping left. Kratuschenko misses with a takedown attempt and Diaz counters with a single leg into guard. Kratuschenko didn't expect that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kratuschenko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kratuschenko is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kratuschenko managing to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kratuschenko striking off his back, scoring a few points.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kratuschenko wants to sweep here but Diaz controlling him for the moment.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Diaz looks to land a combination but Kratuschenko avoids it well. Kratuschenko swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Diaz counters with a left and a right that stings Kratuschenko. Kratuschenko fails to land the takedown. Kratuschenko moves into the clinch successfully.
Kratuschenko pulls guard effortlessly. Kratuschenko wants to sweep but no luck. Kratuschenko looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kratuschenko throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Diaz slips a jab and a cross from Kratuschenko.

Diaz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Kratuschenko throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ivan Kratuschenko dominated that round. The cut man is working on Nigel Diaz's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Kratuschenko shoots in but Diaz avoids the takedown attempt easily. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kratuschenko. Nigel Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivan Kratuschenko. A jab from Diaz finds it's way through Kratuschenko's defenses. Ivan Kratuschenko seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kratuschenko dodges the punch combination from Diaz.
Diaz throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Kratuschenko circles away from the clinch attempt.
Diaz is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kratuschenko is breathing heavily. Diaz throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Diaz fails with an attempt to clinch.
Diaz tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kratuschenko looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Diaz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kratuschenko.
Kratuschenko feints and as Diaz raises his hands in defense, Kratuschenko changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Diaz might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Kratuschenko is posturing up here but Diaz has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Kratuschenko tries to roll out but it's too tight and Kratuschenko has to tap! Slick submission there by Diaz!
