PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Connor MacLeod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Oliver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think MacLeod might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Princes Of The Universe . Ryan Oliver told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacLeod lands a head shot.
Ryan Oliver seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

MacLeod drops Oliver with a beautiful combination! Oliver stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - MacLeod is looking for the KO!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
MacLeod misses with an uppercut. Oliver saw that one coming.

Oliver closes the distance and clinches up with MacLeod, looking for a takedown. Oliver pushes MacLeod against the cage but MacLeod circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
MacLeod lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

MacLeod feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Oliver sprawling to the canvas! Oliver rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can MacLeod finish him?!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

MacLeod drops Oliver with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Oliver looks back up at him and smiles so MacLeod waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

MacLeod throws a shot from downtown. Oliver moves away and avoids it.

MacLeod lands a big uppercut and Oliver crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Oliver looks OK. MacLeod waves Oliver back to his feet!
Horrible takedown by Oliver or perhaps it was just good defense by MacLeod which made him look bad.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for MacLeod, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
