The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mic bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Carnera struggling a bit here.
Mic looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Mic stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Ken Mic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mic shoots and misses
and Carnera counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Ken Mic has been cut.
Mic misses with a takedown attempt
and Carnera counters with a straight right hand.
Carnera jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mic shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Carnera counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Primo Carnera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ken Mic.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Carnera misses with a wild body shot.
A head kick misses from Carnera.
Mic fails with the takedown
and Carnera scores with a counter punch that sends Mic to the canvas! Carnera smells blood - he's punishing Mic with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Mic has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
