Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sim Heer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lando Yuri!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Columbo Gatti and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yuri has closed the distance and engaged Heer in a clinch.
Heer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Yuri misses with an uppercut
and Heer counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Yuri throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Heer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Heer throws a right hand that misses
and Yuri holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Yuri is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Heer lands a right hand.
Heer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Heer fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Yuri on the side of the head.
A slow jab from Heer misses its intended target.
Sim Heer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Heer throws a right hand that misses
and Yuri counters by moving into the clinch.
Nice elbow from Heer.
Yuri trying to stall but Heer improves his position.
Heer with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
A right hook to the body lands for Heer.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Heer unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Heer's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Heer lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Heer blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Yuri is trying to break the clinch but Heer has him pressed against the cage.
Yuri misses with a punch to the body.
Yuri is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Heer is keeping busy.
Heer creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Yuri's defenses.
Heer lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Yuri is rocked!
Yuri looks gassed!
Heer unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Yuri is still on wobbly legs! Can Heer finish him?
A right hook to the body lands for Heer.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Heer.
Heer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Crack! Heer connects with the perfect overhand right and Yuri falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Heer!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sim Heer!
