Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyler Bridges! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny Rogers! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Joseph Jones and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bridges tries for a takedown but Rogers circles away easily and Rogers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Rogers throws a right and a left that both miss. Bridges closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Rogers is trying is best to control the position here. Bridges trying to control from half guard but Rogers is working away. Bridges tries to pass to full mount but Rogers defends it. Bridges sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Rogers lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Bridges backs up against the cage.
Bridges looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Rogers is not content to let Bridges control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rogers is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bridges is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Rogers is doing well to control the position and prevent Bridges from advancing to side control. Rogers wants to control but Bridges is keeping busy.
Bridges keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Rogers is trying to control but Bridges manages to pass to mount!
Bridges avoids the attempt from Rogers to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rogers can't escape the position.
Bridges takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Bridges moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Rogers has worked his arm free - good work by Rogers!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rogers can't do much from the bottom here. Rogers is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Bridges has just dragged him back down to the mat. Bridges goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Rogers has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bridges but great work by Rogers. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tyler Bridges will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Bridges misses with a takedown and Rogers counters with a one-two to the body. A left and a right from Rogers both land. Nice combination. Johnny Rogers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bridges swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rogers counters with a series of strikes. Bridges will be more careful next time no doubt.
Bridges is rocked! Rogers misses with a double jab
and Bridges counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Oh Bridges is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Rogers drops Bridges with a straight right hand, right on the button! Rogers follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnny Rogers!
