Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Meeoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ward has chosen Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Meeoff! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joey Ward! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, David Schapiro and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meeoff instigates a clinch. Meeoff breaks the clinch.
Meeoff gets a double leg takedown into Ward's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Meeoff throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ward works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Meeoff stands up and waves to Ward to follow him. Meeoff tries to clinch but Ward is having none of it. Nice takedown defense from Ward. No joy for Meeoff on that attempt. Meeoff turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Ward defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Meeoff. Meeoff pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Meeoff lands a nice hook to Ward's body. Ward takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Meeoff works the jab nicely. Jack Meeoff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fight stays on the outside here - Meeoff looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Meeoff tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Meeoff lands a slapping body shot.
Ward looks gassed! Meeoff closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ward's guard. Meeoff slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meeoff working the ground and pound. Meeoff lands a decent elbow from side control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ward can do anything to dispel that myth. Meeoff is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Ward looks calm but he's in trouble here. Meeoff gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Ward is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Meeoff lets go of the hold and Ward can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jack Meeoff!
