Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
17 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Macapinlac Co!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luke Danes!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Danes on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Danes closes the distance looking to clinch
and Co counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Co throws a head kick that misses
and Danes holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Danes avoiding damage.
Co dodges an elbow strike from Danes.
Danes misses with an elbow over the top.
Co avoids a wild elbow strike from Danes.
Danes looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Co breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Luke Danes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Co misses.
Co throws out a powerful jab.
Danes shoots and misses
and Co counters with a head kick. That will keep Danes thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Danes doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Co counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Danes has his takedown stuffed
letting Co counter with a right hand.
Macapinlac Co has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Danes.
A punch combination from Co misses.
Co with a nice cross.
Danes takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Co throws a sloppy head kick and Danes moves out of range easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Danes tries to clinch
and Co counters with a right hand to the body.
Danes looks gassed!
Co's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Co duly obliges.
Danes is rocked!
Co goes for a small jab and connects. Now Co goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Danes stumbles back but Co runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Danes to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Danes will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Macapinlac Co!
