Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Tretiak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamie Lynch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lynch is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: for whom the bells toll. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vladimir Tretiak!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jamie Lynch!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lynch lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tretiak circles away quickly and effectively.
Tretiak misses with a wild combination.
Lynch throws a combination that misses
enabling Tretiak to counter with a crisp jab.
Tretiak jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lynch fails to land with a series of punches.
Lynch with a poor takedown
and Tretiak counters with a stiff right hand.
Tretiak connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Lynch darts in trying to clinch
and Tretiak counters with a stiff right hand.
Tretiak tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lynch was well out of range. Poor timing from Tretiak.
Tretiak jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lynch wants to clinch up but Tretiak keeps it at a distance.
Lynch throws a left and a right that both miss
and Tretiak counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Tretiak misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Sloppy strikes from Lynch. Those never looked like landing.
Lynch looks to throw the jab but Tretiak is out of range.
Lynch moves to clinch but Tretiak breaks away
enabling Tretiak to counter with a crisp jab.

and Tretiak counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Lynch thinking.
Lynch throws a head kick that misses.
Tretiak misses with a straight left.
Tretiak swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Lynch.
Lynch falls off balance throwing a combination
and Tretiak makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Tretiak is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Lynch looks gassed!
Tretiak tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lynch was well out of range. Poor timing from Tretiak.
Lynch misses with a takedown
and Lynch takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Lynch on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Tretiak scores with a nice head shot.


Lynch is rocked!
Tretiak is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tretiak wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Lynch is still on wobbly legs! Can Tretiak finish him?
Tretiak does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Lynch seems to have recovered his senses.
Lynch takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Tretiak looks to land a combination but Lynch avoids it well.
Tretiak throws a shot to the body.
Lynch displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tretiak.
Lynch slaps away a takedown attempt from Tretiak, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladimir Tretiak. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tretiak lands with a hook. Lynch tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Lynch takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Tretiak throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
A jab from Tretiak does it's job there.
Tretiak misses with a kick to the body.
Tretiak connects with a body shot that sends Lynch's belly button to the back.
Tretiak scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Tretiak.
Check out the look on Tretiak's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Tretiak tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tretiak has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Lynch tries to bench press Tretiak off him but Tretiak keeps the position.

Tretiak is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lynch has escaped the position, nice work there.
Lynch is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Tretiak tries for a kimura but Lynch is defending well.
Tretiak misses with the ground and pound.
Tretiak working the body and head with strikes.

Tretiak is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lynch is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Tretiak landing a few strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vladimir Tretiak dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Lynch falls off balance throwing a combination

and Tretiak counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lynch won't be happy with that.

Tretiak thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Tretiak is looking to take a break and control but Lynch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Tretiak is squirming around, avoiding Lynch's attempts to control the action.
Lynch throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Tretiak because Lynch loaded up on that one.

Lynch goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Tretiak turns into him and now he's in Lynch's guard.

Tretiak slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The referee asks Tretiak politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Tretiak prefers to stall for the moment though.
Tretiak throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Lynch regains half guard.
Vladimir Tretiak overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Tretiak working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Tretiak seems to be looking for submissions.
Tretiak throwing shots but Lynch is blocking nicely.
Lynch is trying to maintain the position but Tretiak is very close to passing his half guard.
Lynch is breathing heavily.
Tretiak missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Lynch has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tretiak is working away from the top position though.

Tretiak throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Lynch throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting Tretiak counter with a right hand.

and Tretiak counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lynch!

Tretiak cracks Lynch with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Tretiak jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Lynch is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Lynch and Tretiak has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Tretiak laying and praying for a moment but Lynch takes advantage and regains half guard.
Tretiak prevents Lynch from improving his position.
Lynch takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Tretiak thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lynch's head.

Tretiak is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lynch has managed to free his arm - good work.
Lynch trying to control from the bottom.
Tretiak is pressing down on Lynch's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lynch is holding on for now.
Lynch is trying to control but Tretiak manages to pass to mount!
Poor strikes thrown by Tretiak there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Tretiak has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lynch is working to get back to half guard.

Tretiak with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Tretiak has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Lynch is forced to tap!
