PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Bunker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gill Wallnuts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bunker kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Beast. Wallnuts has chosen KO in the Air Tonight as his entrance music. Randy Bunker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Randy Bunker!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gill Wallnuts!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bunker lands an overhand right.
Bunker dives in and grabs Wallnuts's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wallnuts pushes down on Bunker's head and hops out.

Oooooh!!! Wallnuts has knocked Bunker down with a huge combo! Wallnuts steps away and waves a wobbly Bunker back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


It looks like Randy Bunker has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wallnuts takes a swing at Bunker's ribcage but misses.

Bunker closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Wallnuts did well to prevent Bunker getting side control.
Bunker throws a strike but Wallnuts avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Bunker trying to control but Wallnuts is working from the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Bunker wants to control for a moment but Wallnuts uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Wallnuts is refusing to be controlled, as Bunker sits in half guard.

Bunker is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wallnuts has escaped the position, nice work there.

Gill Wallnuts is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Wallnuts is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bunker.
Bunker misses with a left hand
and Wallnuts counters with a nice kick to the body.
Bunker is breathing heavily.
Bunker misses with an uppercut. Wallnuts saw that one coming.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bunker slips under a jab.
Bunker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wallnuts pinned against the cage. Wallnuts gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bunker wants to clinch.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bunker tries to clinch but Wallnuts is having none of it.
Sloppy strikes from Bunker. Those never looked like landing.
Bunker pushes Wallnuts away with a front kick.
Wallnuts misses with a right hand
and Bunker counters with a nice body shot.
Wallnuts swings widly with a right hand
and Bunker counters with an outside leg kick.
Bunker misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bunker lands with an overhand left.
Wallnuts is breathing heavily.

Bunker fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wallnuts avoids it really well and circles away.
Bunker misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bunker misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bunker fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Bunker jabs at Wallnuts's body.
Wallnuts walks into a left hand.
Wallnuts connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bunker's hands.

Bunker drives through with a takedown into Wallnuts's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Wallnuts takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Bunker's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Bunker thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Wallnuts's head.

Bunker wants to work for an arm triangle but Wallnuts is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bunker is looking to advance position but Wallnuts won't allow it.
Bunker frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Wallnuts blocking the ground and pound.
Wallnuts holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Bunker tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

BOOM! Bunker connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's time! Bunker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


No joy there for Wallnuts, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bunker. Wallnuts does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bunker throws a body punch but Wallnuts moves out of range.
Wallnuts wants to land a leg kick but Bunker is out of range.
Bunker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wallnuts tries to avoid it but Bunker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wallnuts to the ground. Wallnuts escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Bunker here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Wallnuts takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Bunker takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Bunker moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

and Bunker counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Wallnuts thinking.

Bunker is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Wallnuts is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.
Wallnuts takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Bunker misses with a series of wild punches.

and Bunker makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bunker in particular looking to stall.

Bunker decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Wallnuts enables Bunker to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wallnuts manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Wallnuts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bunker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bunker is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Still in half guard, Bunker seems content to control.

Bunker lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Bunker moves into the clinch.

Bunker lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Wallnuts backwards.
Bunker lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the ropes.
Bunker presses Wallnuts against the ropes and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Wallnuts has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bunker is proving hard to escape from.
Bunker manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wallnuts manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Wallnuts wants to get back to his feet.
Gill Wallnuts has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
